Common Name: Cleavers
Scientific Name: Galium aparine
Range: throughout USA
Flowering: April - September
Habitat:  
This picture was taken in middle Tennessee in April. Cleavers is also known as "Goosegrass" because geese are known to eat the plants.

Cleavers is known to be edible and has also used for medicinal purposes. The seeds have been known to be dried, roasted, and made into "coffee".

There is a yellow species of this flower, Galium verum.
