Common Name: Indian Pipe
Scientific Name: Monotropa uniflora
Range: Throughout
Flowering: June - September
Habitat: Woodland humus
The plants in the Indian pipe family do not have chlorophyll, so they are not green. This picture was taken on July 5th along the Appalachian Trail in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Tennessee.
