Spotted Touch-me-not

Common Name: Spotted touch-me-not, Jewelweed
Scientific Name: Impatiens capensis
Range: Georgia to Oklahoma, North to Southern Canada
Flowering: July - October
Habitat: Shady wet lands
Similar to but more common than the yellow, Pale Touch-Me-Not, they sometimes grow in large groups.

This picture was taken in the Burgess Falls State Natural Area in Putnam County Tennessee. I have also seen it at Cane Creek Park in Cookeville, TN and at Cummins Falls in Jackson County.
