Flowering Dogwood Tree

Common Name: Dogwood
Scientific Name:
Range:
Flowering: April
Habitat:
Seedfall:
The dogwood berries are a natural food source sought after by a variety of wildlife during the fall, especially birds. We have seen gray squirrels, wild turkeys, starlings, blue jays and other animals eating the dogwood berries from our trees. We have had mockingbirds, mourning doves, and blue jays nest in our dogwood trees.

All of the dogwood pictures here were taken in Putnam County, Tennessee.
