Ted Nugent rose to fame as a rock & roll guitarist in the 1960's and
is now well known for his support of gun owners rights particularly
as they are related to
hunting.
Theodore Anthony "Ted" Nugent was born December 13, 1948 in
Detroit, Michigan. The son of Marion Dorothy (née Johnson) and Warren
Henry Nugent. He moved to Palatine, Illinois, as a teenager, and has
two brothers: John and Jeffrey.
Music Career Nugents musical career started with the
Amboy Dukes in the 60's but his real fame came when he stepped out on
his own in the early 70's with albums that were moderately successful
into the 80's. in 1989 he formed the band Damn Yankees with Jack
Blades and Tommy Shaw.
