| The Killdeer nest with eggs
(below), May 25, 2008, taken middle Tennessee. The ground under the eggs
was originally the dirt that is visible in the lower right hand corner of
the photo. However, as you can see the adult killdeer collected and built a
nest of tiny rocks to keep the eggs off of the dirt. |
