Scientific Name: Pogona vitticeps
Habitat: Brushy Deserts
Range: Australian deserts
Diet: Omnivores
   

 

The Bearded Dragons natural habitat is the deserts of Australia. They have become a very popular pet and breed fairly easily in captivity. Bearded Dragons do become tame with regular handling, but males are aggressive towards each other. If kept as pets insure you use sand or sand like bedding and FULL-SPECTRUM lighting for a minimum of 12 hours per day (be sure to use a timer on lights). Bearded Dragons are omnivores and will eat insects and anthropoids and should be fed zucchini, sprouts, greens. All food should be dusted with a vitamin supplement.
