Indian Star Tortoise

The Indian Star Tortoise is a small desert tortoises that lives in and around dry savannas and tall grasses. They have the ability to live in a variety of places but they do require ample water. They rarely reach lengths of 6" however, some females have been known to reach 12". Indian star tortoise's are are illegal to import without a permit. Unfortunately loss of habitat and illegal poaching have drastically reduced their numbers in the wild.
