Wild Blackberry

This picture (below) of a wild Blackberry blooming was taken in Putnam County, in middle Tennessee during the month of May. Blackberries are not something that we have planted, but we have a nice wild blackberry patch just 5 yards from our garden.

The photo of blackberries above was taken in early July, also in Tennessee. The 3 berries that have turned black are ready to pick and eat, while the berries that are red will take another week or two to ripen. Some recipes that include blackberries are preserves, jams, smoothies and pies.
