This star grass picture
was taken in the
Great Smoky Mountain National Park along the trail to
Laurel Falls. These flowers were about 3" or so off the ground with the
plant having an overall stem height of about 6". White hairs were growing on
the stems. The flowers were about 5/8" wide.
Yellow star grass is a common
wildflower that starts blooming in March and can continue to have blooms into
September.
