  • Loyd C. Hays - Conservation Officer with the Alabama DOC was shot and stabbed while trying to help a rape victim. Despite being sentenced to to death, the murderer only served 15 years before being released on parole. May 1, 1964
  • Walter E. Sawyer - Marine Patrolman with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources was killed an an automobile accident on Wednesday, December 7, 1966.
  • Frank Stewart Jr. - Conservation Officer with the Alabama DOC was shot and killed on December 24, 1978.
  • Cecil C. Chatman - Conservation Officer with the Alabama DOC was killed by blunt force trauma to the head on November 28, 1982
  • James C. Vines - Deputy Game Warden with the Alabama DOC was killed while investigating reports of night hunters on the property of the Dollar Hide Hunting Club in Greene County. January 26, 1985
  • Jimmy Dean Hutto - Game Warden with the Alabama DOC was killed was shot and wounded on March 8 while assisting Fayette County deputies in serving a narcotics warrant at a home. He died March 25, 2002.
  • James Lansford (Lance) Horner Jr. - Conservation Officer with the Alabama DOC drowned while attempting to help another officer in a disabled boat. June 22, 2003
