Delmar Teagan Florida FWC Wildlife Officer Killed In Line Of Duty

Lt. Delmar "Del" TeaganLt. Delmar “Del” Teagan died Friday, April 13, 2007 near Lakeland when his FWC vehicle was struck by another vehicle. Del, 32, is survived by his wife, Melanie, and two sons, Merrick and Morgan. Melanie is pregnant with their third child.

Teagan’s career with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Division of Law Enforcement began on Jan. 5, 1998. He was promoted to lieutenant in November 2006. He was a resident of Lakeland. He received a degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in marine biology.

He will be remembered as a fine officer, a good human being, and a family man.
