The hiking
trail is about 3/4 of a mile long a runs along the
top of a natural cliff line, so children should be
supervised
closely.
The hiking trail parallels Falling Water river and passes above three waterfalls, the largest,
Burgess Falls is about 130 feet.
Burgess Falls is the last waterfalls along the
trail. If you are not capable of walking the hiking
trail there is also a gravel maintenance road that
is pretty level and leads to the Burgess Falls
waterfall overlook.
There is also a short trail and a metal stair system
that leads to the bottom of Burgess Falls. This
portion of the hike is not suitable for young
children and all kids should be supervised closely
as many accidents have occurred on the rocks and
stairs around the waterfalls.
